A conversation I had with my blog this morning
May 20, 2008
Blog: Write something.
Rachel: No.
B: Write something.
R: I can’t.
B: What do you mean, you can’t? Don’t even say you’re not doing anything. I’ve seen your Twitters.
R: I don’t know what to say.
B: Why is this an issue all of a sudden? You haven’t had this problem before.
R: Are you crazy? Yes I have. Sometimes, the things I want to say aren’t good enough and…
B: GOOD ENOUGH? I’m a blog. Quit trying to be fancy and write.
R: Yeah, I am, it’s just..
B: JUST WRITE.
R: Well, ok, I start my new coaching job next week. I have a meeting tonight with all of my colleagues and the food? It’s going to be free. It’s, you know, kind of professional, and…
B: That’s not interesting.
R: …
B: Where’s the good stuff?
R: It’s just, I’m trying to balance between you and real writing I’d like to do. I…
B: Wait, whoa, what?
R: That’s not what I meant.
B: Real writing? What is that? Who do you think you are?
R: Ok, listen, I promise not to hold back anymore. Starting tomorrow.
B: What about today? Here, I’ll make it easy for you. Post some pictures.
R: Ok.
B: Who are those punks?
R: Girls on the lacrosse team I coach. They had a playoff tournament this weekend at St. Vincent College. They did amazing. They’re so awesome. I really, really love coaching.
B: You don’t talk about them much.
R: Well, some of them read you, and I don’t want them to come to practice and laugh at me about…
B: How old are you?
R: Ok, great, thanks, I think that’s enough for today. I’ll see you tomorrow.
B: Remember who you are, child.
R: Thanks, Mufasa.

I feel like this is a small piece of something I would be able to act out for a speech tournament.
Like, a duo!

I can totally relate to this!
(minus the coaching part, of course.)

Does your blog need a timeout? It shouldn’t be talking back at you like that.

Hah.
Me: Hey blog. I don’t think I’ll be updating you with an regularity until September.
My blog: *cries*

Amazing idea for a blog and a conversation I have with myself almost every time I sit in front of the keyboard.

You have succeeded in turning a conversation with your blog into laughter for me, thank you!

My Blog HATES me!

This was cute :)

My blog and I have come to an understanding recently — I get most weekends off, and it doesn’t pester me. Much.
May 20th, 2008 at 4:38 pm
Love it….LOVE IT!
May 20th, 2008 at 5:44 pm
Hah, I wish my blog would talk to me. Maybe your blog could, you know, say something to it.
May 20th, 2008 at 6:08 pm
I know, right? I looked at the weather history for the month of may on the post-gazette, and in the past 2.5 weeks, there was only one day that we didn’t get rain. ONE.
*whisper* it’s very nice out right now. Sunny, light breeze, a little cool. but not raining. am going to get ice cream with boy this evening. am excited. but am whispering because I might jinx it.

Funny, I had that same conversation a couple weeks ago. I’m pretty sure my blog hates me and is somehow plotting to kill my facebook profile. It would do that.

Blogs can be such judgmental, demanding little prima donnas.

Every blog has a place in the circle of life and your place is to be the next blog king.
Or queen.
Whatever.

When in doubt, post pictures.

Hahaha - this? Is AWESOME!

The ending? Awesome.

I can relate to your “real writing” vs. blogging problem. I never know how to balance my time, and go through phases where I just spend the majority on one or the other.

Pretty sure all good blog posts end with a Lion King reference. Kudos on that.

Roffle!

I think that was the right way to go. Start taking pictures of everything you do. Then start doing more fabulous things. The rest just falls into place. I think. Not like I’m an expert or anything. although I am fabulous.

I enjoyed the conversation between you and your blog. Mine’s yelling at me for having abandoned it for so long!
