Because I’m more thankful for family on other days of the year
November 22, 2007
Today I am thankful for the things that do not get much recognition on Thanksgiving. Things like:
Accents. So when I finally go to England, I’m sure I’m there.
Grass. Could you imagine a world without grass?
Anesthesia. I’ve been reading Sex with the Queen and there are several instances of sex-related surgeries. The numbing process (if you could call it that) was, primarily, a swig of strong whiskey. I don’t like whiskey.
Cereal. Otherwise, I’d never get breakfast.
That I don’t have a headache right now. It’s easy to forget how blissful it feels when something isn’t hurting.
Flickr.
Pigs. I just like how they look.
Greeting Cards. Without them, I’d look careless on birthdays.
Halloween. Otherwise, the Christmas decorations would be going up in September.
State Colleges. Because people wear pajamas to class. In the snow. And it makes me feel smart, because I don’t do those things.
Your face.

I like all of those things.
The world would be pretty awful without grass.

Personally, I’m thankful for whiskey. But I’m also thankful for anesthesia on the whole.
I do have something of a headache right now, but I’m thankful that you don’t.
Happy Thanksgiving to you.

If I had a dollar for every time I wore pajamas to class at my state college? I could have paid off my student loan a LOT faster.
Also, yay cereal. And YAY whiskey.

I wore pajamas to class at my private college, but then again, freshman at any college are ridiculous!
But also, I’m thankful that you commented on my blog, so I could discover yours!

As an English person, this whole thanksgiving thing strikes me as well weird. I’m rather glad we don’t have to do it, despite the fact that a holiday in November would be rather nice.
Grass? Yes, definitely. Never considered the importance of grass before. How clever you are!
But whisky is just so lovely - warming and you can kid yourself it is medicinal and doing you good.
If I had to give thanks (which seems a bit icky to me somehow but we English are strange and not much into such things, we prefer to moan!) I suppose at the moment it would be for the internet.

I wear my pajamas to school all the time! In fact, I felt so put upon when I studied in Scotland and *everybody* dressed up. Exactly who were they trying to impress?
I’m thankful for books and beds. Preferably when they are put together with a cup of tea. Ah, perfect.
