I found my calling
November 15, 2006
This morning, I officially changed my major from professional writing to creative writing, thereby surrendering myself to a life of meager career possibilities.
I decided, for the hell of it, to reasearch common jobs associated with a B.S. in Creative Writing. I came across editor, playwright, and crossword puzzle maker. It’s good to know that if the business of publishing little booklets of shoddy poetry falls through, I’ll be able to continue supporting my family by uncovering words that have similar letters and placing them perpendicularly on a giant grid.

seems like you followed your heart and your gut instinct. good for you. usually, when you do that, *something* somewhere ends up working out so you don’t have to worry financially, etc.
and now that you’re doing what you wanted… what you felt was right… your life will abound with opportunity and you’ll be much happier than many that settle.
good luck :)

Ah! Welcome to the world of starving artists. Good luck. The major fits you well.

I’m surprised you weren’t in creative writing in the first place.
P.S. When is your book coming out? Come on! Christmas is coming! I need to pre-order it from Amazon! And then have you autograph it at your book signing at Barnes and Noble! ;)
