This is adorable, and I love Jon and Kate Plus 8! It’s my secret (or not so secret) daytime addiction. I always feel so bad for Jon, though. He needs some friends that aren’t Kate.
This is great. How long before someone comes up with a Wordpress Plugin that lets you do all your posts this way? Not long, but it might take a little longer before the special unfolding-questionnaire to unlock it is debugged.
That is awesome! How did you do that? You forgot to write W/B at the end for write back. Oh and you also didn’t include the check a box option… you know, a la “do you like me?” check a box - yes- no- maybe-
What tablet-pc are you using? ( and how much did it cost?) Great job on the unique idea of handwriting your blog. Did you do screenshots to save the pic, or just export it from OneNote?
P.S. - Sorry for the nerdgasm, I’m a Computer Science guy.
It’s an hp compaq tc4400. I’ve actually never gotten much use out of it, but since my hard drive on the MacBook FAILED, I’ve been making up for our lost time together.
Honest to God, this is one of the coolest blog posts I’ve ever seen. You never cease to amaze me.
Also, we’ve been watching a lot of Jon & Kate + 8. Maybe it’s because WoyGirl is imminent. One thing I always joke about is Kate’s “torpedo belly” when they show her wrapped in Saran Wrap. Scary!
Woy - Thanks! It is scary. And did you just say “imminent?”
LOL.
Uncle Crappy - Thank you!
I know my little sister, who is going into 9th grade, has never done the note thing. And with her fancy schmancy cell phone, I don’t ever expect her to. Sort of sad.
I watch Jon and Kate + 8 too. I tell myself its because they lived in my hometown (back when I did too!) when The Babies were born, and there was all this news coverage and the grocery store gave them a reserved parking space, etc.
But actually, I’m just fascinated. Because Kate is ridiculous.
Did you see the new one on Monday, when they looked at old video footage of them? And the video of him proposing? And she kept asking him if it was recording, and he said “Yes, Kate, It. Is. recording. LOOK AT THE RED LIGHT” and they were all pissy and typical eachother and then he proposed?
I guess they’ve always been like that, and its not because they are surrounded by children and nuttiness. Huh. Who knew? Here I thought that having 8 little kids brought out The Crazy, but that’s just the way Kate is.
really, i love it. it is HILARIOUS. and also so true. all of it. the notes were great. i don’t really have anything useful to say except that i absolutely loved this.
Rachel’s most excellent adventure in blog posting.
God, you’re probably too young for that Bill and Ted reference… but thank you, this was fun to read. (And I’m glad you are from a generation that passed written notes. It doesn’t make me feel QUITE so old.)
This is the best idea I’ve seen in a long time and I am sooooo stealing it! If I ever get a life, if I ever start getting a life, if I ever …. (in other words, don’t be too worried about my theft).

1) You have such stereotypical girls handwriting.
2) That line about telling us mundane details because you’re doing it creatively was awesome.

So, if that is a scanned image, then it’s pretty much amazing… what software did you use because mine never come out looking that pristine.
I used to do this back before there were blogs… we’d do image maps of hand drawn logos and the such… ahh back in the day..
June 19th, 2008 at 1:54 pm
Cute! It would be fun if people did hand-written posts from time to time so we could see their handwriting!
Passing notes was fun in school :)
June 19th, 2008 at 1:54 pm
i just have to tell you how much i love this post! thanks :)

Ha this post was amazing. Creative and hilarious. I liked the “blah blah blah PROM” line.
And of course the om nom nom.
June 19th, 2008 at 2:06 pm
This? is phenomenal!
June 19th, 2008 at 2:31 pm
ewww, note-passing! I was always kicked out of the note-passing circle because no one could ever read my handwriting.
I’m with you on the Jon and Kate Plus 8 thing, though.
June 19th, 2008 at 2:38 pm
This is why I love your blog.

I smell a regular feature!
Please?
June 19th, 2008 at 3:13 pm
I’ve definitely considered it before! Now I’m definitely going to have to do this.
At some point.
If I ever get a scanner.

Gray - My methods are top-secret. TOP. Yeah.
It’s an hp compaq tc4400. I’ve actually never gotten much use out of it, but since my hard drive on the MacBook FAILED, I’ve been making up for our lost time together.
And yes, they’re screen shots from OneNote.

This is hilarious.
Also, I am obsessed with Jon & Kate + 8. My husband is less than enthused by this.

“OMG” talk about nostalgia… the paper football!
June 19th, 2008 at 7:07 pm
I love this. I’ve been reading for almost a year, and your posts still surprise me, in a good way, every single time.
Do kids still pass notes these days?
June 19th, 2008 at 7:08 pm

Uncle Crappy - Thank you!

She DOES doodle on her notebooks, though.
June 19th, 2008 at 7:50 pm
That’s so funny because I was wondering the same thing as Uncle Crappy.
I think they probably just text each other now.
It’s a tragedy because they’re missing out on so many cool origami type note folding techniques.
It makes me sad for the youth of today…
Fun post!

Do you like me? Circle yes or no!
Yes No

Thank you’s all around!
Andrea - Yes, but I need them back this time. I got a 83 on the last one. An EIGHTY THREE.
Katrina - They both seem a little crazy, and I love them for it. I kind of admire their relationship.
June 20th, 2008 at 9:29 am
As usual, you rock. SRSLY.
It makes me sad to think that the next few generations won’t understand the beauty of the hand-written note. Stupid cell phones and text messaging.
June 20th, 2008 at 11:11 am
this is one of the COOLEST things ever. kudos.
June 20th, 2008 at 12:51 pm
It would be neat!! I love it when Fashionista does it and this is way cooler.
June 20th, 2008 at 12:54 pm
Very cute post! And John and Kate Plus 8 so very addicting! I think I’ve watched each show a dozen times.
June 20th, 2008 at 1:41 pm
HA! I just popped in from the Burgh Blog and I love this idea. :) Very nice.
June 20th, 2008 at 2:53 pm
OMG, I laughed my ass off when I saw the “om nom nom nom.” Hilarious!
June 20th, 2008 at 3:39 pm
Hey that was a nice one. I don’t know what you’re talking about not writing many notes in high school. That was your legacy.
June 20th, 2008 at 4:31 pm
ahahahaha I like it a lot.
June 20th, 2008 at 5:52 pm
Wow, that is the most creative blog post I have ever read. You should get another nomination for a blog award.

What an interesting concept! I remember my notes like this in high school. We always used to talk about our geography teacher!
