      I was impressed

      July 12, 2007

I dragged Derrick to the theater last night to see Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. The line wrapped around the building and ended at the back doors, even with us being a half hour early.

Line for the Harry Potter Movie

I was expecting unreasonable lines for the book release in eight days, but I thought we were playing it safe by not trying to see the movie at midnight the night before.

I heard mixed reviews about the whole thing, but speaking of it solely as a movie, and not as a movie based on a 896-page book, I thought it was fantastic, appropriately creepy, and the best of the five. They keep getting better for me. Dudley as a thug was great. The final battle was fantastic. And Radcliffe was especially attractive (hold on, how old is he? Eighteen on the 23rd of this month? Forget I said anything until then).

By the way, I think that professional movie reviewers are absolutely intolerable.

Well said. I’m glad to hear that someone else enjoyed it as much as I did. I sort of like the whole draining of color from the first to the fifth. The creepy factor worked well, without being overdone.

Glad you enjoyed it. But don’t say it’s good until you see Transformers, haha.

I was so disappointed in the movie. I think it had so much going on and was so badly proportioned in pieces that it made you forget half of what was in it in any case. It was creepy and I loved the way it was filmed and I loved Umbridge.. but I always say that the movies will never affect that which the books mean to me hah. Yeah, bye ;)
