Restoring my faith in Facebook, and shopping
November 6, 2006
The camera aspect of my camera phone has been ignored, to say the least. My disdain for cell phones in general was magnified by the addition of the one feature that should be better left for, oh I don’t know, a camera, but I just didn’t feel like signing up for something or other in order to upload the low-quality snapshots here or there. I did just realize, however, that Facebook has a nifty little feature that lets you text the photo directly to them, and then they post it. And that’s it. Huzzah.
Today in class my professor uttered those dreaded words which make me want to tear out my insides and fling them at secretaries as I sign my unenrollment letter: “Why don’t we go ahead and get into small groups for discussion?”
So, you know, I snuggle up to this girl I’ve never met and we spend seven seconds discussing expressivist methods of teaching writing and seventeen minutes talking about working in retail. I quit the hellish udertaking of pushing brand-name, overpriced clothing last winter. Her store, on the other hand, is one that isn’t quite as expensive and obnoxious, doesn’t have it’s own brand of rank cologne, and offers a significant (gasp) clearance rack. Therefore, I don’t mind as much dropping money there.
About halfway through the class, as our professor droned on, I noticed something drift softly onto the corner of my desk. The girl had slipped me a “friends and family only” 50% discount card for the holidays with her name and store location written on the back.
Is this how guys feel when girls slip them phone numbers? Because I’m totally turned on.

I really like this post.
I can’t say why because I think that would be in appropriate. But, yes, I like this post very much so. Yes, indeed. Yep.

Whoa, I totally thought that was a picture of Lindsay Lohan at first and I mean that as a compliment.

I wish that any of my class discussion groups had scored me discounts.
