Saw IV Advertising Revisited: The Video
As a quick follow up to my previous Saw IV post, Blogtober: Saw IV – Effective Horror Advertising, the wonderful people at Movie Snobs caught the TV spots and put them up on YouTube. Surprisingly, their version had three splits, resulting in four different Saw clips.

Has anyone else caught this?
I have yet to see it anytime before 2am.
It seems to have a slightly different effect when watching in a dark bedroom at 4am, but still a clever idea. It wouldn’t be as effective in the day.
I thought everyone was going crazy until I saw this!

I’m jumpy to begin with, so the first time I saw this it was 3am, in my bed, half asleep, and for the few minutes it went on, I had a slight panic attack, like, “must be dreaming. Why am I dreaming bout saw? I’m not dreaming. What’s the deal with this right now?Shit. SHIT.”
So…yeah.
It was still creepy during the day, due to the jarring effect it has since it’s so different from the advertising we’re expecting, but I bet it would have been ten times creepier at night.
The eerie part was that this was on at 7:58PM, on a Wednesday night.
I can imagine all the teenieboppers who were scared out of their minds. Creepy? Absolutely.
I’m glad there was a commercial for Tide detergent because if I saw this at 3am, I’d shit my pants and then I would need that baking soda formula to get rid of the shit stains.
