Season switch
The weather has been exactly what I’ve been waiting on for the last five months and I haven’t been enjoying it as much as I would like to, mainly because summer is approaching and I need a job. I applied at Kennywood, the local amusement park, and if anything, it will serve for some decent people-watching.
As I sat in the stuffy pavilion, waiting to turn in my application, I remembered being a camp counselor in Maryland, and going three months without air conditioning, or TV, or the internet for more than an hour per week. One of my biggest forms of entertainment during that period of time: The male counselors would take the tiny, hard-plastic cups distributed in the dining halls, fill them with liquid, and with the velocity of a thousand winds, lift them, flip them, and propel them downwards onto the over-varnished oak tables, keeping the liquid trapped inside and floating atop the glossy surface, resulting in frustrated children and wet hilarity.
There’s never an easy way to clean that up.
I did a minor redesign to shake the last bits of winter that I can’t seem to get rid of. If things look funny, try refreshing a couple times, and if it’s still a little off, well, aren’t we all.

Love the design- very fresh and springy~! It snowed here again today in MN. Luckily it didn’t stick.
I love the new look, Rachel!
Looks good to me!
Great Job.
ooh, if you get a job at Kennywood, you have to let me know where you’re working so when we go with Maggie this summer, we can say hi :)
Love the new header! So cute.
I can’t believe you didn’t ask me to make you some sweet graphix. Yeah, graphix with an “x”!
Oh, summer camp. Good times.
Cute x 5
This is so cute!
love it!
You should speak with your co-hort at tubecityonline.com – he used to work at Kennywood. He might have some tips for you.
I grew up in Pittsburgh, and Kennywood was the highlight of my summers! I would love to hear your stories if you worked at Kennywood.
Love the redesign :)
totally hot
Thanks everyone. :)
Eric – I hope his tips wouldn’t include, “Don’t work at Kennywood.”
Love the new header!
I was all ready to declare it officially spring here over the weekend, and then it snowed for 5 minutes this morning. Bleh.
that pic reminds me of the week before graduation (10 years ago! eek!) when i absolutely did NOT clip some lilacs outside of Dilworth in the middle of the night
“and if it’s still a little off, well, aren’t we all.”
LOVE THAT. Amen.
