See what you’ve done to me

November 23, 2007

I’ve experienced three Thanksgiving dinners over the past day. That’s three families. Three turkeys. Three sizes added to my jeans. I was up early today, but not to shop. Because you shoppers? You’re CrAzY. I’d rather relinquish mashed potatoes than spend five hours in line at Best Buy to save $4 on Shrek 3.

The puppy: Still unimaginably small. His voice would prove otherwise. The moment I detach him from my neck, he has something to say about it. This has proven difficult in the event of showering. Even when set directly outside of the bathtub, he sounds the unhappy alarm, and I’m like, my God, I’m RIGHT HERE.

And then he passes out for four hours from the sheer exhaustion of it all.

If this is any indication of how my future children behave, at least I know to start crate training them early.

Bello is the most freakishly, uncontrollably adorable creature ever born. The photos were compelling already; the video is enough to have me eyeing my two cats and calculating whether I can coax them into accepting a jumping, yapping creature into their otherwise serene universe.

You are killing me with cuteness, and as I babysit as a for of birth control, I will now listen to the howls as a form of puppy control. If I put it on mute I might kidnap him. Does he have a mute button?

I love your dog. I am serious.

And re: your question about Secret Window - yes, I liked it. Not as much as I liked The Mist, though, but that’s me, and most people know not to trust my opinion.

I love how he seems unable to stop walking backwards.

Oh god… shopping the day after thanksgiving is something I will NEVER do again. And LOL at your adorable pup!

My cat can be the same way when it wants to be. Mind you she’s just dumb.

That long to save $4?!?! heck you should have said, I’d have given you $4 to keep you warm.

Hahaha. The dog is precious. When I watched the video I pulled the hand-over-heart/ mouthing-the-word “aw” (with an implied high pitch) card. But then realized, when I return to my apartment tomorrow night, I will revisit the nightly sounds of the kitten AND puppy my roommate and I recently acquired.

    I share your sentiments.

And I enjoy reading your thoughts.

    :)

I’ll just say this - although I risk eternal damnation from you and all your readers - but well, I am not a big dog fan!!

I love your blog though!! Just not your dog!

He’s adorable, but if I had to listen to that for hours on end, I might have to smother him with a pillow.

    Still cute, though.

    K.

    Agreed.

Ah yes.. our puppy just passed out of that phase and into the next where everything — chairs, rugs, arms — are chew toys brought into this world to soothe his little dagger-like puppy teeth.

Shrek 3 is totally not worth it. I’d stand in line to get to hold Bello. When he’s QUIET.

What an adorable little beast. I didn’t have the volume on so I guess I missed the shrieking. The backing up is pretty funny too.

That puppy is adorable (that’s coming from someone who dislikes all dogs) but what is up with his voice? :P

And it’s amazing what some shoppers will do to save a few bucks…
