Besides lacrosse, I don’t talk too much about it, even though I live in the land on which all other sports teams go to die (besides baseball, but really, do we have to keep acknowledging that? A blemish on my good name!), and besides that time last fall when my punk of a sister got to hang with The Kid in his private box, I haven’t mentioned the Penguins.
There’s something about the intensity of certain games that makes me crazy, and at 10:45 last night, after Pittsburgh beat Detroit in game three, I might as well have been pounding a six-pack of Miller Lite rather than sipping a diet coke, because as a restaurant full of women tackled each other in masculine excitement, and a wave of men performed a black-and-gold ballet of joy, I was convinced that the logical next step of my evening would be to log in to Wordpress and post a drinking chant, an adrenaline-fueled poem depicting images of Pittsburgh and power and a metaphorical description of how and why I would like to beat my ex senseless with Fleury’s skillfully-handled hockey stick.
If we go to the Cup, I may need a trusted someone to temporarily change my password. Either that, or you’re all in for some heavy, juicy, self-destructing reading material.

I randomly decided to become a hockey fan this week and was cheering for the Penguins last night - great game.
Are Clevelanders allowed to cheer for Pittsburgh teams?

That’s why I love a good game (especially when my team wins), though usually if I leave a stream of consciousness it doesn’t come out in eloquent prose, as I’m sure yours would.
By the way, I don’t comment often (or ever) but I thought you might appreciate knowing you have at least one fan that doesn’t show up often on the boards.

Don’t worry, Detroit will bounce back Saturday Night but last night was the best Finals game I’ve seen in YEARS!!

You looked pretty last night. Happy. Happy too.

I found out last night that the space in front of the net is called the CREASE. not the GREASE.
You can see how much I’ve been paying attention. I’m not a sports fan, but I am a defacto Pens fan now. Yea, I’m a bandwagon jumper. Whatever. I don’t claim to actually know anything about what’s going on.

Narm - Yes, especially considering that we’re better.
BurgherJon - Hi, thank you. :)
Darren - It was! It was!
Jennie - <3 Thank you. And I was. I am.
katrina - LOL!

hey you;
having problems with human interaction? it seems that every so often you fall out of a relationship. may-be we should let your uncle john screen your suitors. i mean you are our neice and we are so protective of our family especially the girls!

Uncle Michael - Ha! No, not humans, just boys, and usually, the same ones over and over. And I’m sure you can correctly assume the level of defense I’m offered by my male relatives, especially my protective uncles.

I am hoping the Pens pull another good game out tomorrow night. Please! I miss being in Pittsburgh, I bet it’s insane right now.

I doubt any of us would mind heavy, juicy, self-destructing reading material… as long as it’s not TOO self-destructing. And yes, hockey is the best sport to watch in person.

I just can’t do sports. My friends say this will change when I go to college, because I will watch Berkeley’s football games, but I somehow doubt it.

Good luck to your Penguins! Red Wings are tough, but you still have a good shot…
