The Ring XP
July 30, 2007
I think that if I had the option of skipping over the next two or three years, I might. What are the early twenties for, anyway?
Maybe it’s because it’s practically August, and the most productive thing I’ve done this summer is produce Kool-Aid. I don’t think I’ve even been grocery shopping in two months. I hate grocery shopping. But I love eating. Conundrum.
Speaking of conundrum, The Ring was released five years ago. The whole thing was based on a VHS tape. The situation would probably be even scarier now, because how much more difficult would it be to find a VCR that can record and copy? What would Samara use today? Facebook? YouTube? I imagine she would be much more satisfied with the internet, getting her word out so quickly and to so many. Eventually, though, everyone with the internet would see it and there would be thousands bringing their laptops and iPods to the streets and forcing the clips upon the homeless, and there would be a mass extinction. Of the homeless.
That went a lot farther than I intended.
Did you know that XP, as in Windows XP, stood for eXPerience? I did. Rad.

They’re for finding yourself. And for sex. I think you’re underestimating Kool-Aid.
Don’t give the media any ideas. I’m sure there are movie producers out there who are already thinking of a spinoff.

Was that 5 years ago? Wow. It seems like it wasn’t that long ago, but VHS’s were much more conceivable then than they are now.
Hm. Yeah, jeeze, poor homeless.
Ha. RAD!

Are you coming to the convention next week? There are some people who would love to see/meet you.
Is that really what XP means? I don’t know why I never bothered looking it up. Maybe because it sucks.:)

it really doesn’t seem like The Ring came out five years ago. I think I’m aging too quickly.
(and re: your comment on my blog - thank you for making me realize that Wendy’s foil-type wrappers are probably better for driving. the thought never even crossed my mind. haha.)

Jake - I’m not sure. It’s the day after I get home from the beach, so I really have no excuse not to. Are you? I’d rather go with someone than show up and be stuck in a shy state the entire time.
Alicia - I can always help with any issues regarding fast food.

I almost went screaming from the theatre like a little girl when that was released. I’m over it now.
