Today I am 14
November 28, 2007
Today I am 14 and I know this is going to be the biggest year of my life. This year I will transfer from a Catholic grade school to a public high school. I will learn that transitioning from a class of 14 to a class of 635 will make honor roll much more attainable. I will find that it is easier to fall in with the wrong crowd, as they are ultimately more accepting.
This year I will dye my very dark hair very platinum blond. My mother won’t let me wear makeup. In seven years, I will hate having to.
This year I will have a locker across from an overactive, quiet boy who will come to school with a blue and orange mohawk and ask me to the 9th grade dinner dance. I will say yes and I will wear a long purple dress and take it all too seriously. I will be his first girlfriend and his mom will invite me over for dinner and out to places like Renaissance Festivals and even though I won’t say much of anything, I will love it, because I never got out much.
He will end up becoming my best friend and I will grow intensely attached. In seven years, I will live with him in an apartment that neither of us can afford.
This year I will start my own website. It will list all of my favorite friends and senseless quotes, like this one: ~*you can fall from the sky.. you can fall from a tree.. but the best way to fal..l is in luv with me!*~ I will drag and drop sparkly clip art and little pixelated dollz in bikinis. It will have a guestbook.
This year I will not think about college, as it is still four years away.
I think when I am 21, I will probably be engaged, and preparing to get married as soon as I graduate from college, the college that I applied for and got accepted to with a full scholarship. Then I’ll have a luxurious job that I love, love, love!
Maybe I’ll still have a website.

Hee. This is marvelous.

I’m a bit slow but did you write that when you were fourteen?
I always find it fun to look at stuff i wrote a few years ago, it’s amusing to read the stuff that ten-year-old me thought. I was all innocent, and my biggest worry was about not having any chocolate in the house.

I’m not sure I could remember my thoughts of when I was 14. At least you had big plans and aspirations? Life sometimes gets in the way and slows things down.

I don’t think she wrote this when she was 14. It seems more, “today…looking back.” Especially since she’s acurately predicting the future.
It’s crazy how some things change, and some things don’t change at all.
Love this. :)

This is so cute…I think this is a creative work..authors get to have creative license to write and claim no space and time…in each setting… ;)

I love the way you wrote this entry…

This is lovely. It’s nice to reminisce non-bitterly.

When I was 14, I had a moped. I wore a lot of black rock ‘n’ roll T-shirts and still thought girls were kind of dumb, although I think now that last part had more to do with the notion that I had no idea how to talk with them.

This is wonderful! I have no control over my memory, it’s usually sensory oriented flashes of something distant.
Thanks for coming by my blog!

I was more introverted at age 14 than I am now. I’ll have to write a post on how all that changed.

When I was 14 I went through the most awkward hair phase of my life, was psyched out of my mind that my mom let me use the phone line to get on the internet for a few hours a night, and was still reeling from my father passing away during the last year.
Yikes…if I could find stuff I wrote at that time I’m not sure I’d want to read it!

Today, I’m 14, too ;)
When I was younger (it feels weird to say that, since I am pretty young right now!) I had quotes like “forget love ~ I’d rather fall in chocolate!” :P

Could it be that today’s your birthday? In that case, HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
If it’s not, I just want to point out that the fist sentence made me go “Whoa, I did NOT know that!” This is how much anonymity the web gives you. You could so have passed for a child prodigy:)

When I was fourteen, I was just finishing eighth grade and was about to move up to high school. I was sure that I was going to be a star swimmer, have a really nice boyfried, and be published several times by the time I graduated.
Well, I swam for two years, but could never be called a star, never had a boyfriend, and I only got published once in college.
Ah, youth.

Excellent post! I may copy you at some point down the line… hehe. I am now currently dating the kid who had a mowhawk at 14 too. They are the coolest kids, obviously.
