Tug of war
February 25, 2008
Today, I was going to write about meaningful things. Listening to Lifehouse will do that to you.
I probably would’ve discussed the past year, highlighting how detached I’d become after the down-slide of what was, essentially, a six-year relationship.
I could’ve mentioned the transitions between colleges, how I was never really completely sure I’d made the right decision.
I might have noted my displacement after finally coming back to a Pittsburgh that I wasn’t entirely familiar with, and the reasons surrounding my return.
But I’m still not sure if I want to go there. So here’s my dog, eating a pupcake.
Either way, he’s happy.

The bottom picture made me laugh for many seconds.
Going through those journeys of self-discovery can be a significant undertaking. And, should only be done when you are ready.
I think everyone here is always willing to listen.

I love you, dearest, but you really need to not keep everything so completely inside. Especially since you’re a master of words.
I mean, this is the sort of thing blogs are for. There are those who whine on and on relentlessly. You are not one of those. You are captivating. You are intelligent enough to sound…intelligent.
Let it out, girl.
Seriously. I want to read it.

These are awesome pics.
And feel free to share. I started my blog under almost those same circumstances, and boy-oh-boy, have I ever “shared.” It feels pretty darn good, actually.

First: Bello may be the most adorable dog I’ve ever seen.
Second: It’s interesting how when we start to be deep and wax philosophic (sidenote: why don’t we ever wane philosophic?) that it can end up as just being bottled away and left to ferment. However, Woy is right on both parts it should only be done when you know you are ready and there are always people willing to listen.(:

Priceless!

My new puppy needs a pupcake. Where did you get it!?
February 25th, 2008 at 7:54 pm
:)

What a delightful “I just snarfed” face he has in the last shot!
I, and everyone else, wants to hear what you have to say.

Woy - That’s very kind of you.
abbersnail - Also, very comforting.
Sean - Very true.
Jamie - There’s a bakery near me called “Dozen” that just makes cupcakes. Once in a while, they have the pupcakes. I was thrilled.
Christina - SNARFED! Ha!

omg !!!!!!
Bello = beyond precious!
:-)
February 25th, 2008 at 9:24 pm
And if he’s happy, it makes things that little bit sunnier for you, right?
February 25th, 2008 at 9:51 pm
My God, that dog is too cute for words.
February 25th, 2008 at 10:27 pm
Bello: THAT WAS REALLY GOOD i need a nap.
February 25th, 2008 at 10:30 pm
I don’t think anyone is ever sure if they make the right choice until its too late to change it. I definitely know I fall into this category.
Everytime I go to Dozen, they’ve run out of cupcakes. I heard they’re getting a bigger place in Lawrenceville, though. May already have, not sure.

February 26th, 2008 at 3:10 am
pupcakes…cutest thing EVER
bello’s smirk is priceless
February 26th, 2008 at 6:38 am
Aww, Lifehouse. Memories.
Six years? Damn. Take all the time and pupcakes you need.
February 26th, 2008 at 8:36 am
Bello is so sweet. Give all your worries to him. Seriously. Talk to him, and he will help you figure things out. There is nothing quite like a dog. Nothing like those little breaths on your cheek early in the morning. Too sweet!

I will now impart to you the wisdom of the universe. For FREE!
There are no “right” decisions. Only different decisions.
The way to happiness is puppydog snuggles.
February 26th, 2008 at 10:56 am
Well, whenever you’re ready to spill, your friends are here to listen.
By the way, that is one funky looking cupcake. Is it specifically made for pets?
February 26th, 2008 at 11:08 am
Andrea - Really?! That was my first time there. We should stake it out sometime.
Jake - Yes. The “icing” was peanut butter.

Rico had a pupcake just the other night and reacted quite similarly, he wanted more. As for the decision, I went through the same thing and like someone else up there said, once you decide you should have done something differnt, it’s too late. So don’t dwell, make the most out of the moment. Life is full of opportunities (or else I’d still be living in Spain.) Damnit.
February 26th, 2008 at 2:14 pm
I want to read more about what’s REALLY going on too…but in the meantime, I will continue to greatly enjoy your pictures. :-)
February 26th, 2008 at 4:11 pm
When summer comes, you’ll have to introduce Mr. Bello to Frosty Paws-type treats. I have a recipe for them around here somewhere that I’ll try and dig up for you.
Also, I’ve been meaning to thank you for the sweet thank you note. It made my day. :)

It seems that while the blogosphere is a great place to connect with people you’d never have met otherwise, it is also a remarkably lonely space in that you don’t really have a solid frame of reference, and every limit you may have, you need to set yourself. So there is always the fear of oversharing, overwhelming others with your feelings, or just of ending up telling very intimate things to people who are essentially strangers to you.
However, when you are hovering in indecision and doubt, it is important to remember that people mostly come back to personal websites because they care. And it can be easier to talk about certain things while maintaining the illusion of talking into thin air, with the only difference that you might just get kindness and support flowing back at you.
Sorry if this is too long, all I want to say is that whenever you want to talk, I’ll be glad to listen.

i totally know what you mean about lifehouse.
and your puppy is so damn cute. i wish you lived closer to me (or vice versa!) so our yorkies could be best friends. =)
February 26th, 2008 at 6:57 pm
Bello is so cute! Forget about writing meaningful stuff, you have a blogger’s best friend there with you.
February 26th, 2008 at 8:31 pm
Wow.. the pictures are too cute. I absolutely love dogs! I need to listen to more Lifehouse.
Be well!

That is the most satisfied expression on a dog’s face that I have ever seen. Wonderful.
February 29th, 2008 at 10:38 pm
My dogs would go crazy over one of those (my silky looks a lot like your yorkie).
