Light up night / A post in pictures

    November 16, 2007

We headed into the city tonight for the Santa Spectacular.

Every person who lives in Pittsburgh was there.

It was hard to see because every parent had stacks of children on their shoulders, but there was a stage with some dancing.

    Then a flamboyant Santa arrived.

He pointed his big stick at things and they lit up, like this tree.

    And then everything else exploded.

It was freezing and I bah humbug’ed a little less than usual. That’s all.

Great pictures! I would have had trouble with that crowd, so best I didn’t try to attend. But I’m glad you had fun, and I’m really glad you summed it up so nicely.

[...] evening was to end with fireworks, but I was in the wrong spot to see them. Oh, well. Rachel has a few better pictures. Finally met up with the group again and walked back. Hung out for a while, played Uno, ordered [...]

Ah, the magic of Santa’s “big stick.” haha (sorry, that was uncalled for!)
Those pictures make me wish I lived in a “real” city that hosted “real” events. In Richmond, we pretty much just plug in the lights and go home. We’re exciting like that.
