Up and away
July 4, 2006
It’s the kind of thing that my teachers talk about doing, that my aunts and uncles did when they were my age and poor and in need of getting away from my grandparents, that they show in movies and on sitcoms but that few people actually have the time and means for.
I love to travel, but usually can never afford it. Luckily, being employed on the East Coast has put me in greater reach of things and places (and money). So, I’ve decided that today, the 4th of July, I’m going to drive to New York city with a group of international kids (two from England, one from South Africa). What are we doing? I have no idea, but we’ll find out when we get there. And you’ll probably find out tomorrow.
Please, wish my car luck.

I’m not sure if you’re going to get this email before this evening, but if you get a chance to, you should go watch the Macy’s fireworks. I saw them on FDR Drive a couple of years ago, which I thought it was kind of cool. They closed this major highway for pedestrian. There are other places in the City that you can go to to see it, including the Brooklyn Bridge.

Ooooh Fourth of July in the City, huh? Sounds exciting =) There’s always something to do in NY, what more on Fourth of July. Drive safe and here’s wishing you fun times and awesome memories! ♥
